BOARD OF ADVISORS

LEETH & EMILY DAVIS

Leeth is originally from Gastonia, NC. He went to college at Lees McRae in Banner Elk, NC where he worked in construction and served on the volunteer fire department. He fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a helicopter pilot in his early twenties and is now a leader in his industry of utility aviation, building power lines currently but has experience in fire fighting, logging, and even fish stocking with his longline and a bucket. He has become an expert in operations and logistics and is a force to be reckoned with paired with having a heart of solid gold (Emily wrote this, but it’s true!). He has been a solid asset to the fire department and town management in Lansing since the storm ravaged and feels blessed to be able to put his skills to service for this amazing community that he now calls home and family.

Emily is originally from Gastonia, NC and relocated with husband Leeth and children Beckett and Josie to West Jefferson full time in 2022. She is a structural engineer with experience in bridge design and construction as well as project management. She is a full-time homeschool mom, part-time engineer and business owner, and manages short and long term rentals that she and Leeth own. She loves to be helpful to friends, family, and community members. She has experienced more proof of God and seen more love exchanged in the two weeks following Hurricane Helene than ever before. She feels blessed to be able to assist her community with her talents and expertise.

STEVEN HOWELL

Steven Howell grew up in Rocky Mount, NC but at an early age fell in love with the mountains. He graduated from Appalachian State University with a BS in Community & Regional Planning. While in college he developed a knack for real estate and entrepreneurship which stems from his father. He now has his hands in multiple businesses ranging from property management, real estate investments, and owns a bar/restaurant business, The Liar's Bench in Lansing. He splits his time commuting back and forth from Charlotte and Lansing, NC. He has made many lifelong connections in Lansing and surrounding towns and is passionate about the friends he thinks of as family. Following the hurricane, he reached out to close friends for help and shortly after, Lansing's Bridge to Recovery was formed.

LORA YOUNG

Raised in Ashe County, Lora Young is a Lansing local. After high school, Lora attended NC State, then Oklahoma State and spent time traveling the world as a hunting guide. She is now back home in the Helton Community and works at the West Jefferson Footsloggers. When disaster struck, Lora's house was left virtually unscathed, so she immediately went to check on her friends in Lansing. The devastation of her beloved town left her without words, but not without action. It's all about neighbors helping neighbors.

JT FINK

JT is a proud North Carolinian, currently residing in Lansing with his wife Aimee and 9 year old twin daughters, Kaelyn and Parker. Supporting the community of neighbors in Lansing and Ashe county is a passion of his. JT has 20 years of banking industry leadership experience.
